At the beginning of the 2015/16 academic year 10 students studying at Stewards Academy in Harlow were identified as individuals who would benefit from mentoring support as they embark on their GCSEs and make important decisions regarding their futures.
10 of the airport’s senior leaders have taken on the role of mentor to the students and attend bi-weekly meetings with their mentees, discussing topics such as approaches to revision and exams, how to balance studies with a life outside school, and help in considering next steps after GCSE’s.
Neil Banks, Head of Airport Customer Services said:
“This is my 3rd round of mentoring and on all occasions I have found it very rewarding. Feedback from mentees has always been positive they benefit by talking about things such as managing life schedules and interview skills.”
