Pilots and cabin crew to baristas, retailers and more
Nearly 50 employers attended, showcasing over 300 full time and part time positions to aspiring airport workers at the latest jobs fair that provides unique access to recruitment teams representing airlines, retailers, restaurants, hotels and transport providers from across the Airport.
Stansted Airport is already the biggest single employment site in the East of England and home to over 11,600 workers but with passenger numbers recently topping 22 million a year and the airport growing faster than any other in the UK, hundreds more new jobs are being created.
The event, organised by Stansted Airport in partnership with the airport’s Employment and Skills Academy, took place on Thursday, October 22 at the airport’s Radisson Hotel.
Marcella M’Rabety, Corporate Social Responsibility Manager, said:
“An airport such as Stansted is a significant employer within the communities we serve as well as being a major economic driver for the whole region. This vitally important role helps create and sustain an enormous range of jobs and careers, appealing to a wide range of people and suited to a variety of lifestyles. It’s essential we have a talented pool of people wanting to work at Stansted, and by partnering with our on-site Employment and Skills Academy we can support recruitment opportunities by helping to make sure we play our part in developing the skills and confidence of those seeking to work at Stansted.”
Alison Perrin of Titan Airways said:
“As a business partner of the airport, Titan Airways is pleased to be attending the Jobs Fair as it’s an ideal opportunity for us to meet job seekers and to discuss our requirements for our 50 plus vacancies in cabin crew and flight deck that we current have available.”
Attendees were able to meet potential employers face to face, obtain careers advice, receive guidance about the application process and find out more about free training opportunities and existing vacancies.
One of the many benefits of working at the airport and making job opportunities even more attractive, is the wide range of public transport discounts available to staff. The Airport Travel Card offers an attractive option for staff to use public transport, offering significant savings on standard rail, bus and coach fares.
